Windhorse Circle
Windhorse is an ancient symbol of big-hearted spirit power, clarity and well being in many shamanic traditions of northern and central Asia. In Tibetan culture the Windhorse, known as Lungta, came to represent the fifth element at the center of the Tibetan elemental mandala – sacred space.
Okay, so how did Windhorse end up on 48 acres of land in Maine, USA?
It happened on March 25, 2012 at a monthly meeting of a shamanic weather circle (that is still in existence today) held here on the land. Many of us already had three-and-a-half years of weather shamanism work from this circle under our belts, including personal practices given to us by our weather spirit allies to prepare us for something as yet unknown.
But on this particular day our circle was guided in ceremony to bury a magnificent Tibetan quartz crystal in a moss-covered area of the pine forest where we were visited by a spirit called Heartbeat-of-the-Earth. Since that moment, nothing has been the same. Exactly when the Tibetan crystal was buried the spirit of Windhorse sprang onto the land through this joining of Heaven and Earth. Since then, Windhorse has challenged us to experience our unique, true and grounded selves while also resting within the expansiveness of unified consciousness. As you can imagine it’s not an easy task, but often a very joyful one.
This challenge has naturally led to a deep value of living in right relationship with all beings. This value is practiced and manifested here through the relational practice of shamanism. And I’ve seen that when we create a regular practice with our powerful, loving guides we often find ourselves riding a path infused with wisdom, empathy and healing.
Windhorse Circle offers trainings in beginning through advanced shamanic techniques.
